I just saw “Princess Bride” for the umpteenth time last night. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s corny, schmaltzy and I wondered is there really such a thing as “true love” or the “perfect farm boy”? “She was the most special thing in my life and still is,” says Donald Joye about his wife Phyllis, with whom he’s shared 50 years of married bliss. How incredible is that!

She never had a wedding dress, but had her prom dress altered to fit for their 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Read their fairy tale love story here.

Talk about cultural differences—or not?! They had a dispute after the wife fell through a hole in the rotten floor of their home and she blamed her husband for lousy workmanship. He retaliated by hitting her with a piece of sugar cane, to which she responded with a threat to slice him up with a machete and burn the home to the ground.
