Ok, it is just a teensy unusual. I'm Renée Michaels and I now share my life with three of the sweetest kitties ever.
Despite my marriage not lasting, I am still a cheerleader for long-lasting relationships. My ex and I were married for 21 years and to make a very, very long story short, realized our relationship could not survive if we stayed married. We decided that keeping our friendship was more important than maintaining a marriage that didn't work.
Yes, this is a rather unusual situation to understand, and while we have not one regret about the time we shared together, we are happier apart. My ex mom-in-law, Reggie was my "second mom." All in all, I feel extremely fortunate that we could come to this realization and not discount all that we did share.
Marriage or long-term relationships are one of the most unique and wonderful journeys we can experience in life. When you can share all that life dishes out and still know that "this is my soulmate"—well, that's the miracle of love!
